Send Email to a Gmail Contact Group

Here are simple steps on how to send email to a contact group in Gmail in just a few clicks. Well, I was trying to send an email to quite a number of colleagues sometime ago and until I was able to flip the pages of Gmail help on how to do it real quick, I did the traditional way of adding the emails one by one. But then, I learned the simple trick afterward and now, sending a message to bulk contacts is a breeze.
The principle is plain and simple – when you send to a group, you are actually sending to multiple email addresses. If the number is like a hundred or so, that’s a lot to input into your addressees’ email address box.
Getting into the steps, and assuming that you have already created a group and associated the related contacts with it, here is how you do it in two (2) ways. First is from the Contact manager:
1. Log in to Gmail account.
2. Click Contacts.
3. Select the group you would like an email.
4. Click “All” at the top of the contact list or select individual emails.
5. Click “Email” in the group details pane.
6. Compose your email.
Second is from the Compose email window:
1. Log in to Gmail account.
2. Click Compose.
3. In the “To:” field, enter the first few letters of the name of the contact group (e.g. group name: Media People type: Med).
4. Select your contact group from the list of addresses or group list that pops out.
5. Compose your email.
That’s all it! Happy emailing.
