How To Turn Off Gmail Chat
Posted on 19. Oct, 2009 by dimaks in Web
If you ever wondered how to turn off Gmail chat feature, it is rather easy by simply looking at your Gmail client window itself while you are online or logged on to your account. Although you may also go invisible via the chat status preference located at the left sidebar, for some personal reasons or maybe preference, a user might want to turn off this live communication capability.
This post is an addition to my coverage of blogging about Google things, where for one, you might want to take a look back at my Google Goggles for the Drunken post.
Simple steps on how to turn off Gmail chat:
1. Log in to you Gmail account
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for the Terms, Privacy Policy, etc section
3. Within there, along “Gmail view“, click “turn off chat” link as shown in the picture below

4. Done
If you would like to turn on Gmail Chat, just go back to the section referred and click “turn on chat” link.

Yay. Palagi ko ding pinapatay chat ko. Minsan kasi sobrang daming mag chachat at ang daming chat windows naka open. Better use Gtalk nalang kesa sa Gmail Chat. hehehe.

Jehzeel,
dapat talaga naka-turn off ang chat kasi pag naka-invisible lang, pwede pa rin mag pop-up ang chat message. yes, Gtalk is an option, might try it.

K,
well, this is the web hehe. the good thing is, you can actually flag those malicious emails as spam and they will be stored in your spam folder automatically the next time they arrive at your mail box.
