Google Doodle for Valentines Day 2012
Posted on 14. Feb, 2012 by dimaks in Web
Google made a Doodle for this year’s Valentines Day, featuring Tony Bennett’s “Cold, Cold Heart“. While it is one of the usual practices of Google to dedicated doodles for certain events or occasions, this one turns out to bear one cute, simple but sensible meaning.
If you watch the video of this particular doodle, you would see a boy trying to impress his crush. The boy tries to offer various gifts to his dream girl by searching things using Google search. Eventually, he realizes that all the girl wanted is someone who would join her in doing the thing that makes her happy.
“Cold, Cold Heart” is a country music and popular music song, written by Hank Williams. This blues ballad is both a classic of honky tonk and an entry in the Great American Songbook. (Wiki)
It was first recorded and released by Williams in 1951. It was originally a B-side (MGM-10904B) to “Dear John” (MGM-10904A). Well, perhaps this Google doodle is, at the same, a dedication to one of the great works of Bennett.
