Google Doodle for Heinrich Rudolf Hertz 155th Birthday

Google joins the world in remembering the 155th birthday of Heinrich Rudolf Hertz, the German physicist who “clarified and expanded the electromagnetic theory of light that had been put forth by Maxwell.” Hertz is the guy who demonstrated the existence of electromagnetic waves by making a proving apparatus to detect radio waves.

Heinrich Rudolf Hertz was born on the 22nd of February 1857 and died on January 1st, in 1894.
Hertz also had interest on meteorology. This is attributed to his being in close contact with Wilhelm von Bezold, his professor in a certain laboratory at the Munich Polytechnic in the summer of 1878. Other scientific works he got into is contact mechanics. His articles were cited as one of the reliable sources of thoughts back in the days.
On electromagnetic research Hertz developed the Hertz antenna receiver in 1886.

yea, sometimes Google is kind of vague but there is always the rationale behind the symbol they use.. like in this particular doodle.

I love it when google gives recognition to awesome people of the past. ITs really cool to read about them too.
