Get Your Google Buzz in Gmail

Google Buzz in Gmail has been released! If you noticed (well, I did just today) while on the way to opening your Gmail account, you will be prompted with an alternative page suggesting you to configure your Google Buzz. Things come in handy at first because you will be asked to organize a few items before your Buzz tool goes into full functionality. At first, you will be asked to check out the tool:

What can you do with Google Buzz? In Google Buzz in Gmail, you can:
- Share updates
- photos
- videos and more
No setup needed – Google Buzz does not require any new setup at all. You just re-configure the things that are pre-set by the system. The system also sets in default the follow option to the people you email and chat the most in Gmail. And since everything is bundled in one place, you can make multiple posts for your audience or network as a whole.
Google Buzz Inbox Integration – The comments that you can get for your posts will appear right in your inbox and this makes the interaction easy and convenient.
Google Buzz Network Setting – in this step of process, you can choose to follow or unfollow a contact or a friend in your Gmail network.

Next in the step is the ability to choose whether you should put your shared items in Google Reader visible or hidden to your friends. Other things you can add to this connectivity panel are your blogs and Picasa album, as well as Google alert status.

Upon completion of the above steps, you just got your Google Buzz working and you will then be able to post your updates/buzzes around the web, for your network friends. In the post panel, you have the option to insert a URL or Photo. And these, you can opt to publish publicly or privately, that is for the whole Google Buzz community to see or strictly for your Buzz friends only.

I am yet to see the intensity of impact of this new Google Tool but from the looks of it, this initiative is but a reactive move, given the tremendous success reaped by the social networking and micro-blogging platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. I gave this tool a try, after all, it is free and I like free things. Who does not? ![]()
So what are you waiting for? Google Buzz around now!

And of course you can also connect your blog to Google Buzz. When you’ve a new post, a buzz is created. An entirely new way for people to interact with your blog posts. I’d rather people leave comments on my blog though instead of writing them on Google Buzz threads. Good for attracting new readers, too.

jan geronimo,
that feature is just great.. another way to market things out. and i share the same preference on where a blog comment should be left on — i prefer it on my blog.
