Here Comes The Multi-platform ATM Rootkit

A hacker and security researcher developed a Multi-platform ATM Rootkit and is planning to deliver a talk about it in a certain computer security conference on July 28 and 29. His talk is titled “Jackpotting Automated Teller Machines”.
Barnaby Jack crafted the said Multi-platform ATM Rootkit and is feared to become the grandest ATM security ever witnessed.
So what does a Multi-platform ATM Rootkit do? Honestly, I have not gotten any detailed capabilities of this ATM hacking system but from my limited knowledge on computer operation, a root is like the main key to your overall digital resources. In the computer terms, a user who successfully entered the root section can change everything in your server computer for example. Therefore, a rootkit will mean like a jammer that will let you pass a security system.
But the good news is, Barnaby Jack is out to speak about his creation and demonstrate many ways of attacking the ATM machines, remote and network-based, and thereby lay down alternative actions for the ATM industries ti protect themselves from such attacks. Such details were written by Jack in his Black Hat Web site.
Should Multi-platform ATM Rootkit reach the Philippines, I think it will be a total mess. I suppose you have heard the hackers technique of stealing your confidential pass codes by installing tiny video cameras within or at the vicinity of the ATM machines and also by guessing your birthday dates and so on, since these the most common sources where we generate our ATM passwords. I do hope that you are not using this method anymore.
