UFC 140 Results and Winners
Posted on 11. Dec, 2011 by dimaks in Games, Sports
The UFC 140 Results has just been tallied and we got some tremendous outcomes for the most, if not all, of the UFC/MMA fighters that we rooted for in the just concluded match ups. First off, I am sort of disappointed that Lyoto Machida lost to Jon Jones not because I am a die-hard fan but rather, I was on the high expectations that the game would be balanced tonight with the rise of Machida against Jones. Both are known for their exceptional martial arts skills, but along the way, Machida succumbed to a dangerous pit brought by Jones’ guillotine choke.
Machida was out, blank eyed and flat like a fallen leaf.
Jon Jones opened the bins of his winning graces by landing a vicious elbow to Machida’s face. The rest is history. Machida’s black belt title seem to have gone, when Jones’ grappling entered the scene. Here are the words of Jones during after-fight interview:
I know Lyoto is a black belt, so I was expecting a lot more motion on the bottom,” Jones said. “But he didn’t move a lot, and I was able to open him up.
He didn’t have me hurt, but he did punch me pretty good and wobble me a little bit.. It was good. I think one of my biggest critic points is that I can’t take a punch, so I’m glad to prove it to myself and everyone else that I can take a legit hit. He’s just really smart. He kicks really hard, and he knew his range. He has great tactics. He was definitely a very tough puzzle.
Meanwhile, Frank Mir toppled down Nogueira with a gruesome submission. The latter’s right arm looked like snapped by Mir’s deadly Kimura.
Now I’m the first person to knock him out and the first person to submit him.. I kept flat, chest heavy and was able to break it. That’s what I trained for.
On Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs Tito Ortiz — former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz took brutal knee to the body, which eventually brought him down to the canvass, hurt and pressured while getting swarmed by Nogueira’s ground and pound hits. Nogueira had the win at 3:15 in the first round. Here Nog’s remarks:
I feel so great. It’s like a dream come true to beat Tito Ortiz.. He’s a legend in this sport. I want to say thanks for this fight with him. I knew he was going to try [to be aggressive early] because, in his last two fights, he came out very aggressive. I was very prepared, and I was in the best shape of my life.
