Thiago Alves not Joining UFC 111

With all the sizzling excitement that we have got for the UFC 111, we learned about a minor yet sad change in the UFC 111 fight card, as reported in BODOGBEAT. This coming weekend, Thiago Alves will not be fighting due to a CAT scan result that revealed some irregularity in his brain. The decision was given by the New Jersey Atheltic Commission.
In hope to authenticate the scan result, Alves was taken to a specialist for second opinion.
UFC President Dana White hopes that Alves can still join the fight this weekend – “I’m hoping it’s a mistake and he can continue to fight – he’s one of the best fighters in the world,” White said.
Ben Saunders will be replacing Thiago Alves to fight Jon Fitch.
Thiago Alves vs Jon Fitch is one of the fights that I am excited to witness in the UFC 111 so this is a sad news indeed. But I know that the main event Georges St-Pierre vs Dan Hardy will be one hell of a match.
