UFC 141 Results – Overeem Retires Lesnar
Posted on 01. Jan, 2012 by dimaks in Sports
Here goes the UFC 141 Results. An action packed weekend indeed as we witnessed the clash Lesnar vs. Overeem in the heavyweight division. I was able to witness almost all of the matches lined up in the card. Upon tuning in, the first fight I saw was that of Jim Hettes against Nam Phan. With the combination of aggression and accurate landing punches, Hettes pulled off a decision over Phan.
In the support cards, there were two (2) fights that ended up like a surprise to all. The outcome happened so fast like a blink of an eye. I am referring to the Gustafsson vs Matyushenko and Hendricks vs Fitch fights. Both Matyushenko and Fitch went down the canvass due to TKO punches.

Nate Diaz vs Donald Cerrone was a fight to witness. It was like a showdown of the two’s standup capabilities. Diaz landed loads of punches into Cerrone’s face but it did not shake “The Cowboy’s” chin. The match ended up in a unanimous decision in favor of Diaz.
Lastly, Lesnar announced his retirement from the UFC, during a post-fight interview while still in the octagon. Brock said that he have had several struggles in life for the past 2 years, so his time is done. But then again, had he won over Overeem that night, there will be another fight for him to prepare to, followed by the intended retirement. But things went so fast; Overrem outperformed Lesnar.
