The UFC 110 Preview: The Main Card

Everybody knows that this grand match up between the feared and legendary Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu guy Nogueira and unbeaten supreme wrestler Velasquez is ready to explode this weekend. And it’s virtually unstoppable from happening, given the fact that this is not just a fight in the old house but a foreign ground to show off each others prowess in the heavyweight arena of the UFC – having it held in Australia is just a double treat for the UFC fans.
In UFC 110, the Brazilian legend Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and the unbeaten Cain Velasquez will be riding the boat of violence in the octagon and give new definition to heavyweight division, for other upcoming fighters to come. This fight is between the strong forces of submission and boxing skill coming from Nogueira and relentless top of the line wrestling prodigy in the hands of Velasquez. In the same manner, Wanderlei Silva hopes to bring up his aggressive image again against the Briton warrior Michael Bisping. Ryan Bader is testing the deep water by going against “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine.
What is really going to happen in the whole length of the brawls in the octagon on Feb 20? Nogueira is expected to utilize his submission arsenals, should Velasquez opt to go ground-and-pound. In the stand up side of things, Nogueira is a strong striker but as many noted, his foot works have slowed and this gives plenty of room for Velasquez to force the Jiu-Jitsu man into the deep pit.
Moreover, Antonio Nogueira is no doubt older in the pair in terms of age, albeit experienced while Cain Velasquez is young and prime and has got rich talent to bring down “Minotauro’s” house.
The fight is yet to happen and concluded so we shall see in the UFC 110 results on who will reign supreme among the great fighters in the card. So who’s your bet? For me, I am going for 60/40 split for Velasquez.
