10 Best UFC Fighters of 2009

As the year 2009 closes its last page, the UFC is not bidding goodbye without naming its 10 Best UFC Fighters in the past 12 months. The organization warmly hands its unofficial awards to the amazing and worth-mentioning fighters of the octagon. Perhaps, a benchmark for the aspiring Mixed Martial Arts athletes to strive more for fame and glory or a goal to deliver the most out of their sports spirit.
The UFC.com is proud to announce its Ten (10) Best UFC Fighters for 2009, namely;
10 – Jon Jones (Highlight – UFC 100)
9- Nate Marquardt (Highlight – UFC 102)
8- Dan Henderson (Highlight – UFC 93, UFC 100)
7- Cain Velasquez (Highlight – Velasquez vs. Kongo)
6- Dan Hardy (Highlight- to face Georges St-Pierre in early 2010)
5- Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (Highlight – UFC 104)
4- BJ Penn (Highlight – UFC 101, UFC 107)
3- Anderson Silva (Highlight – UFC 101)
2- Lyoto Machida (Highlight – UFC 104)
1- Georges St-Pierre (Highlight – UFC 100)
And as we venture into the next book of UFC great fights, we can expect an explosive start-up by having the UFC 108 on January 2, 2010. There will surely be pleasant surprise fights in the MMA pound for pound campaigns in the octagon.
