UFC 106 Results and Winners / UFC 106 Fight Results. The UFC 106 Ortiz vs Griffin has just been concluded and we got the fight results, fresh from the octagon. Some fights were not shown on broadcast so here are the matches that I was able to jot down.
UFC 106 Results and Winners:
Tito Ortiz vs Forrest Griffin – Griffin by split decision
Josh Koscheck vs Anthony Johnson – Koscheck by tapout
Paulo Thiago vs Jacob Volkmann – Thiago by unanimous decision
Luiz Cane vs Antonio Rogerio Nogueira – Nogueira by TKO
Amir Sadollah vs Phil Baroni – Sadollah by unanimous decision
Ben Saunders vs Marcus Davis – Sanders by TKO
Kendall Grove vs Jake Rosholt – Grove by tapout
There are a few controversial segments in some fights though. First, Josh Koscheck seemed to have initiated a wrong drama wherein he acted as if Anthony Johnson tipped his left eye but several video rewinds showed that it was his right eye. Koscheck was given a few seconds of rest at ring side and kept on closing his right eye. He was asked my referee Mario Yamasaki if he wants him to call for a medical doctor, several times and he did not reply. Second, in the main event, Tito Ortiz took a bad rest in the 3rd and final round and allowed Forrest Griffin to batter him with various combination of hits.
There are other interesting highlights in the game like the impressive endurance of Jacob Volkmann, commendable finish of Ben Saunders and Kendall Grove, and not to forget the lethal knee strikes of Amir Sadollah which made Phil Baroni staggering in the last 2 rounds of their match.
