Sea World Killer Whale / Sea World Trainer Killed in Shamu Tank (Video): A Sea World Orlando trainer is reported to have gotten an accident on Wednesday afternoon inside the Shamu tank. The killer whale eventually killed the 40 year old Dawn Brancheau.
According to a witness from a viewing area;
The trainer was explaining different things about the whale and then the trainer that was down there walked away from the window. Then Telly (the whale) took off really fast in the tank and he came back, shot up in the air, grabbed the trainer by the waist and started thrashing (her) around,†Biniak said. “He was thrashing her around pretty good. It was violent.
Telly, the sea world killer whale was involved in the death of another trainer sometime in 1991 and believed to have been related to the death of a man, later in 1999.

Trainer killed by Orca in Shamu Stadium — Perhaps this is why they are called killer whales?
