MMDA Renews Policy on Buses Plying EDSA – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA renewed its “nose in nose out” policy on the buses plying the EDSA corridor. The policy was sought out to control the entering and exiting buses from the terminals to avoid traffic congestion build-up.
The renewal of such policy is in view of the fact that even though it has long been in effect, bus drivers continue to ignore it and take things for granted, thereby worsening the already chronic traffic situation.
According the MMDA chairman Oscar Inocentes, they will be closely monitoring the areas such as ubao, Quezon City, and Pasay.
The “nose in nose out” policy, if strictly implemented and enforced will hopefully hinder the drivers to maneuver their buses here and there along EDSA.
Along with the order is a crackdown on provincial buses loading and unloading passengers at prohibited areas.
