The Quirino Grandstand Hostage Taking Video
Posted on 24. Aug, 2010 by dimaks in News
Watch a segment of the video, capturing the hostage drama at Quirino Grandstand, which took the SWAT teams to sort of gain control after a tiresome and groggy full day scouring of “Tactics” on how to approach the scene.
Very unfortunately, the incident ended up so bad. So bad that many of us Filipinos went out to tongue-lash the police authorities on the way they handled the crime scene. As a  result of arresting the hostage taker’s brother and showing the conduct on national television, then ousted police inspector Rolando Mendoza due to robbery and extortion went kaput and decided to just finish the deal by killing all 7 of his hostages.
Mendoza died of a head shot, by a sniper from a far.
Here is the video showing the SWAT team swarming the Tourist Bus, trying to penetrate. They ended up smashing the bus windows and door for their entry, but things became an epic fail. If you watched the coverage on GMA 7, you would even see a segment where the policemen tied the dilapidated bus door with a rope and let it dragged by a mobile car. Dang! the rope gave up of  course and nothing happened. You guys got a chain or something more durable than the rope?
Well, anyway, hello tourism and police tactics! And I almost forgot – hey crowd control! Where have you gone?
