7.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Haiti

Haiti is struck by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake, Tuesday at 4:53 p.m.This is the largest earthquake that hit Haiti in more than 200 years, leaving the Haitian capital largely destroyed. It is assumed that there could be thousands of people dead due to the disaster. The U.S. Geological Survey said that the earthquake centered about 10 miles (15 kilometers) west of Port-au-Prince at a depth of 5 miles (8 kilometers).

The bad thing is that Haiti is a poor country that will take a very long time to recover from this. We are lucky enough to live in a place where if something like this happened we would be better equipped to deal with it.

i am pretty sure that UN will extend help for Haiti, not to mention the donations to come from every part of the globe. Your blog post in particular is but one noble step to help the calamity-stricken country.
