Posted on 29. Mar, 2010 by dimaks in News
Cherry Blossom Festivals are usually celebrated in many countries around the world and one of them famous observances are done in Japan. In a Japanese cherry blossom festival, there is this traditional Japanese custom of viewing the flowers, under the trees while enjoying a party filled with various home-cooked meals or take out foods, alongside a tea drinking session. The cherry blossom happens from January to June while the related festivals are observed from March to May.
The cherry blossom viewing is also known as Hanami in Japanese term. Friends, families and colleagues celebrate hanami under the Sakura trees, on a wide-spread plastic mats, with lots of delicacies, teas, sodas and even wines on it. This is one of the memories that I can never forget during my stay in Japan. Pinoy’s there also celebrate the occasion just as the Japanese people do. Take a look at the Photos of Sakura blossoms that I took during a hanami celebration in Tsukuba, 3 years ago.
The main attraction of the cherry blossoms are the beautiful flowers clouding most of the tree lines around the neighborhood. You just can’t take your eyes off them.
