Hurricane Ike Uncovered Mystery Vessel
Posted on 20. Sep, 2008 by dimaks in News
The Hurricane Ike washed away the shores of Alabama Coast and uncovered a Civil War Ship Relic. The uncovered Mystery Vessel “could be a two-masted Civil War schooner that ran aground in 1862 or another ship from some 70 years later” according to archeologists. Part of this Battleship Wreck was already found when Hurricane Camille cleared away the same sands in 1969.
The Artifact Battleship is 136.9 feet long and 25 feet wide, said Mike Bailey, a site curator at Fort Morgan. Below is a photo of the discovered battleship in Fort Morgan, Alabama.

Saw this on the news while watching TV. It is indeed an interesting and mysterious vessel. For scientists, Hurricane Ike brought something good.
