Wonderful Sour Balls
Posted on 19. Feb, 2007 by dimaks in Life, News
Today, two labmates and myself decided to have lunch at the Tsukuba Center’s Q’t shopping mall. Down the ground floor, there is a food court-like area just like what proliferated in most Philippines malls nowadays. Anyway, that’s not what this post is all about. But rather this “Wonderful CHARMS Sour Balls”, which I and Mr.D bought for some kind of a dessert. Some sweets after the burger stake curry topped with egg (actually I forgot the name but the main components are all that). Here’s how the conversation went between me and Mr.D:
Mr.D: Ok, I’m gonna buy some chocolates here.
Me: Ok, sure.. hm, I think I’m gonna buy some too.
Mr.D: Ok
Me: Hey look, they got sour balls!
Mr.D: Haha, yeah they really got those kind of things here.
Me: I’ll take one of this, I think different flavors are good (and yes, I was intending to post it later on).
The “Wonderful CHARMS Sour Balls”
Want some?

Ay, this candies remind me of the SourBalls (it was also the name/brand) that I liked as a kid. Same shape & meron ding parang thicker ring sa gitna. They came in a box (shaped like a cigarette pack) of maybe 10 or 12 balls & I sold them tingi-tingi in school @ 5 cents each. Mabenta yun ha! Ang profit ko that time for each box was maybe 15 or 20 cents!

Yum, candies.
I always thought giving candies were a way to make someone happy whenever they’re blue.

Sour ball as in sour ball? or is it really sweet? Something colorful like that shouldn’t taste sour hehe

Gina,
Entrepreneur pala kayo
Elaine,
I was expecting that these candies are chewy but they’re not. So when you’re blue, you might just end up biting and crashing them down between teeth
verns,
They’re a bit sour.. the colors indicate flavors.
tina,
Haha, kainin mo na, baka langgamin
ade,
ty for dropping by.

Haha, may picture ka pa na katabi ang mouse para may “scale” for comparison.

kathy,
Just the size of the plastic pack for the candies, scaling made sense. But you know, as usual, the pack is mostly void.. there were only about 10 candies inside, lol. And yes, I was trying to show that mark on the mouse beside the roller

Are they sour? (Siyempre, sour balls nga, e. hehe) I don’t like sour candies. Siguro, sour sweet or sweet sour, puwede.

Hi. Some mousepad … or is that a note pad? Computations? Co-effs and all that horror stuff? Geeky ha. Ganda ng shot — the contrast of colors.

Just by reading the title and looking at the photos already made my mouth water..really! Hehe..I love sour candies.
I remember when I was still there in the Philippines, whenever I’d see a candy store sell the Crybaby sour candy, I buy a pack of it.

Cai,
did you happen to watch the old tv commercial of datu puti suka/vinegar(?) ..I think he looks like the main character there.. but then, that was around several years back.
rhodora,
Ah they are sour and sweet, so you will like it
annamanila,
I actually do not use commercially available mousepads ..and that’s an improvised mousepad – out of A3 size paper I stuck onto my table, which also serves as my notepad
Jaypee,
With these candies, at first, it gives your jaw a slight numb feeling, maybe due to the sourness? I dunno but every time I eat sour foods, it gives me that feeling in the jaw. And I think these kind of candies are also one of the lil kids faves
