C. R. Johnson (October 8, 1983 – February 24, 2010) was an American new school ski professional and player who specialized in freestyle & free ride. He won many awards during his skiing career, in fact he won the US open in 2002 against Tanner Hall. CR Johnson was the first skier to do a 1440 and four complete 360 degree spins in the air at the mountain of Squaw Valley, California, his hometown.
Sometime in 2005, CR Johnson had an accident which resulted to a brain injury. The accident prompted his doctors to put him into a medically-induced coma for 10 days. He eventually re-learned his basic motor skills leading to his total recovery. He came back to free skiing and enjoyed his sport and hobby for several years.
Ending his fame and practice of free style skiing, CR Johnson died of an accident while negotiating a very tight rocky area at Squaw Valley, California. He was reported to have hit his head into the rocks after landing from a leap.
