Watch Your Body Weight and Alcohol Intake

While reading an article by Sarah Stanner, I came to know about a small yet interesting fact about alcohol and reducing body weight. Well, an avid reader of her was asking about the subject and along the way, I learned that according to studies, although beer does not probably trigger “beer belly” as compared to other types of alcohol around, a pint of beer already brings in around 140 calories. And since alcohol stimulates appetite, your dietary plan via reducing food intake is in danger.
I think this is one of the many misconceptions or perhaps knowledge lacked pertaining to everyone’s wondrous journey on how to reduce stomach fat. People know less about what they are trying to do and it leads to total mess in the plan. For this, Stanner remarked that a dieter has to watch out alcohol intake.
Among the suggestions of Sarah Stanner on this subject are the following:
it is easy to cut back on calories without feeling hungry – try bulking up your meals with foods that are low in fat and high in fibre so you feel fuller for longer (for example, add more vegetables to a spaghetti bolognese or more salad to a sandwich).
Foods that contain water (soups and stews, foods like pasta and rice that absorb water during cooking, and foods that are naturally high in water, such as fruit and vegetables) will also help to fill you up with fewer calories.
Including a source of lean protein with each meal (skinless poultry, lean meat, fish, beans, pulses, nuts) can also help to keep hunger at bay. (Source: telegraph.co.uk/health/)
In these times, following the above routine and practice is a bit difficult. Add to it is the vast proliferation of fast food outlets in almost every corner of the streets of Metropolitan Manila. Sometimes, you just can’t resist the temptation.
