Waiting

How about you?
Everyday we wait.
While waiting, we tend to get visited by streams of thoughts, entertain some of them and throw away the rest.
We hoped for the season to change but it seems to be taking too long.. we still waited.
While waiting, we equip ourselves with hopes. But sometimes, they were false.. we still waited.
We stood by the era when transportation and communication cost like a whole-life’s fortune. Technology came and we became happy.. we were joyful. We had the eyes of the triumphant. The hands of the mighty. The walk of the greats.
We still waited.
While waiting, inspite of the advancements, we seem to have embarked on a dilemma. Efficient technologies came, our waiting endurance went down. Shall we still wait?
While waiting, we always hoped for the express things.. we seem to have lost patience.. easily get angry and irritated for just a minute delay. And we are still here, ….waiting.
We wished for a grand wealth and we had it, and still receiving them in great abundance.. we get loose with worldly glory. We still waited.. for more gold?
Now while waiting, hearts and minds seem quarelling, squabbling, perplexed and perhaps lost? Where will you stop waiting? or Would you still wait? What is your purpose of waiting?
I even ask, is there such a thing as – the art of waiting?

Hey there! I’m afraid I only got stories of weird things that I see around.. for example, I always come across with individuals, walking and smiling alone. Or they are also waiting for something? hehe. Thanks for dropping by.

I don’t know about the art of waiting. I only heard about the art of letting go. I think there’s a certain level of artness required for everything hehe
Anyway Anderson Cooper said hoping is not a plan. I think that same goes for waiting. But then again I sometimes just wait but I prefer to do something of course
Have a good day.

@verns
If that’s the case, then waiting is always a new field to venture for you – full of surprises. And I think, doing something while waiting can be counted as one of the arts?
Hmmn, is it almost always that waiting is what follows after letting go?

we wait.. just like how a person without an umbrella waits for the rain to stop.. waiting shed is the title of the story i have been writing.
we tend to wait even when we can feel that we are no longer waiting for someone or something to come. but then we still wait, with perseverance, with hope.

I prefer calling it the “art of being patient,” lol. The thing about waiting though, sometimes we might forget what we’re waiting for in the first place.

I read somewhere that a % of our lives is wasted in waiting. Quite true. Just this morning, I wasted 30 mins waiting for the service van to arrive. BUT, I also read that we can always do something quite productive while waiting. So I came up with a solution to all those boring minutes, sometimes hours, of waiting… grab something to read

Ahh, and that makes waiting go beyond hope …it begets faith too. Thanks for paying a visit.
@Prab
– patience, so that we won’t lose our sense of directions and goals.
That’s possible, especially if you have a weak foundation and aspiration about who/what you are waiting for. And for sure, man has the art of going about it. And yes, it can be the art of being patient
@sasha
..though, some people just let it pass and enjoy the ride ..there is even this we named as killing the time. Time is just too precious isn’t it?
That is what I call, going about it

Dimaks, came here to tell you I tagged you for a meme. Hope its not exam time in Tsukuba. Anway, the meme is a breeze … 5 minutes flat without the trimmings. Pero ang ganda na naman ng topic mo. The art of waiting … or maybe the philosophy or poetry of waiting. Don’t wait to finish your doctorate, to get married, for your children to come, for your children to graduate. Enjoy the process .. kuno kuno

I really didn’t know the real focus because the subject seem too complex.
Haha, ok, you can expand this shotgun post on waiting
@annamanila
It’s just that some spirit of the poets are swarming me these days (kuno).
Don’t worry, I’ll do that meme..

we wait, patiently wait, all the time there are cues, we wait for our turn, oh gosh! we can’t help it. it’s not really the art of waiting, dear, but it is transforming that waiting time into something useful. while waiting, one can plan, one can reminisce, one can take time for sudoku (are they all over in japan?), crossword puzzles, listen to music, at times, one can even just stare blank. this is indeed a stressful age, but we still have a choice. see, you can even transform your wait into beautiful poetry.

@sexy mom
I agree on transforming the waiting time into something useful. That is, to make waiting a window to another beautiful horizon. Perhaps its one of the arts therein to sugarcoat this stressful age of ours?
