Jonathan D. Jones was born on July 19, 1987, a 22 year old American mixed martial arts fighter. He is fighting at light heavyweight in the UFC and is training at Tri Star Gym. Most recently, he started training at Jackson’s Submission Fighting in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Jon Jones is coming out of Rochester, New York. He was a 2005 state wrestling champion and a national Junior College Champion at Iowa Central Community College – the school where he got his Associate’s degree. Jones signed a four-fight contract with the UFC and is now the youngest in the roster. He has a long reach of 84.5 inches, a bit more to tie with Tim Sylvia with a reach of 86 inches.

He got noticed of his great performance in the octagon, well equipped with deadly spinning elbows and back kicks. He was rewarded the unanimous decision victory at the time. Even the veteran Stephan Bonnar at UFC 94 on January 31, 2009 took the test of these abilities of Jones and the former suffered powerful takedowns and throws.

Jon Jones is set to fight with Brandon Vera this 21st of March at the 1STBANK Center (formerly Odeum Colorado) in Broomfield, Colorado. Their fight will be live via VERSUS cable channel, or via live stream UFC Live Vera vs Jones.
