Them Promo Girls, Beware!
Posted on 21. Nov, 2009 by dimaks in Life
Products promotion nowadays comes in varieties of styles. But usually, you get to encounter them promo girls first, in the malls, busy streets and even at the church vicinities. Some of them are courteous and gentle and some are not. Some are simply annoying and very persistent. They can ruin your day or make it. When you go to the malls, you get the chance to test various products and enjoy discount rates when you buy. But watch out for the predator type! Why? Because I was a victim myself.
I was going down the stairs of a certain footbridge in Cubao and upon landing on the last step, a girl in late 30s approached me and handed me a pack of promotional hand sanitizers. Only to realize that she was a different kind of “promo girl”. She immediately asked me, “Sir, kelangan nyo ng babae?” (Sir, do you need a girl?). I was supposed to ask her what she has just given me for. To my surprise, I almost threw to her face the items she gave. I could not help but laugh and said NO. I was so disgusted when she followed me when I tried to walk away. Man, she even told me, “Sir, mura lang” (Sir, It’s cheap). I smirked and gave her a “speak again and I’ll break your face” look.
Oh well, she was a pimp disguised as a promo girl. Prostitution these days is rampant in broad daylight (as has always been?). It’s sad that they’re just like selling fish meats in the market.
