Nihonggo finals
Posted on 26. Feb, 2007 by dimaks in Life
Update: I got the test scores today –Listening test (dictated thru casette tapes) [22/24], Grammar test part 1 [34/38] and Grammar test part 2 [58/63] ..yay, I wish my conversation skill will be like those scores, lol.
In about six (6) hours from now, we will be having our ã•ã„ã—ã‚…ã†ã—ã‘ã‚“ (“saishyu shiken” final test) for the nihonggo class. And comes wednesday, each one of us has to deliver a speech in japanese, in front of the japanese language teachers as well as our fellow classmates. Well, maybe I have to re-schedule my speech on friday since the teachers alloted two (2) days for it. I barely had a nap and I’m not even done with the half of that reviewer the teachers gave us last week on friday. And this runny nose keeps on bugging me since last night. It gets more complicated if you read those “drills” and “notes” books. Sometimes it is confusing where to concentrate. When you ask for pointers, you get the “everything is covered” reply
Nice! Sometimes I thought of taking my Masters degree online on Japanese language – maybe the test/evaluation system is much better. Just thinking aloud.
ã˜ã‚ƒã€ãŒã‚“ã°ã‚Šã¾ã™ï¼ï¼ˆ”Jya, ganbarimasu!” I’ll do my best)

How do you say “Good Luck” in Japanese? With the help of my good friend, Babel Fish from Altavista (http://babelfish.altavista.com), he told me to say: よã„é‹!

Jaypee,
hmm, I heard Spanish is what’s more likely to be demanded if you intend to work in an international organization or company. So, there is a bright catch there
— Thanks.
Next to this Japanese, I want to learn Spanish too

When you deliver your speech, just don’t forget to bow low 2 times before and after Then maybe you end with bansai-mabuhay. Joke.
Sige, good luck.

Spanish is very useful and gives you an advantage especially if you live or work here in California because of the large Hispanic population. Aside from Spanish, Chinese would be the best language to learn if you’re into business.

Jaypee,
Hmm, at any case, I think learning another language a very good investment itself

Wow. Huge scores. Bet you were an A-lister even then.
Babel Fish of Altavista says, ãŠç¥ã„! It’s supposed to mean ‘Congratulations!’ but when I translated it back to English, it said, ‘Celebration!’ Hahah. I didn’t know Babel was a mind-reader, too! Hahahaahahahh.
Either way, congratulations to you.

Elaine,
When Japanese greets you “congratulations” they say “Omedetou” but in dictionary, there are “Keishaku” ã‘ã„ã—ã‚…ã and “Keiga” ã‘ã„㌠both mean congratulation
Babel has the tendency to give out weird results in translation.. much more with the grammar. Thanks by the way!

So, how did it go? I’m sure ginulat mo yung teacher sa galing mo.. hehehe… What’s teacher in Nihonggo by the way?

rhodora,
the teachers here have the tendency to over-praise the students, or maybe its just how they show their kind of appreciation and encouragement. So, if you don’t have any idea of this attitude, you would also tend to get over-self confident
Teacher in nihonggo is “sensei”. Teacher rhodora would be rhodora sensei hehehe.
the test went fine

annamanila,
they are adjusting to the climate as usual. the past week was a bit hard becuase they both (actually including me but i must not get sick) caught cough, as spring is known here for its infamous allergy phenomenon due to the pollens. but they are getting better now, i hope.
