Carlos Slim Helu, is now the Richest Man in the World, surpassing Bill Gates. Carlos Slim Helu is a Mexican engineer, businessman and a philanthropist as well. He is well known in the telecommunications industry is now holding a net worth of around US$53.5, according to Forbes List.
Carlos Slim Helu became the Richest Man in the World for one reason and cause – 2 decades ago, he bought América Móvil, a Mexican state owned cellphone company. Not only that, he also controls Teléfonos de México (Telmex) and Telcel.
Carlos Slim Helu being the Richest Man in the World is ahead of Gates at $53 billion and Buffett at $47 billion.
