We always fprget, don’t we? We wait to be reminded. But He is patient, isn’t he, giving us more chances than we are entitled to. God bless Dimaks.

    angelblush,
I agree.. and i think the least we can do is to be grateful for having this precious life we are enjoying now.

    cai,
True, many people only remembers in times of needs, and its shameful.

    sexy mom,
Good thing HE does not run out of everything, for HE is beyond limitations. Thank you.

    annamanila,
That’s why it’s so shameful not to notice HIS fountains of mercy and blessings. Thanks too.

I’ve been missing Sunday masses and I did not even go to church last Wednesday. I can’t do such thing of course when I am home because that will make my father really really upset. Anyway I had a guilt trip for the rest of the week because of that.

Sometimes we justify it with the lack of time, lack of rest etc but like what my mother always say…it’s just one hour…one hour lang for HIM.

I went to hear mass last Sunday. I know it won’t compensate for my absences but I believe that a sincere heart saying “I’m sorry” is heard by God. I just really have to give more time to HIM :)

    Thanks for this my friend

    verns,
You’re welcome. We all have this kind of laxities but the good thing is we do realize our mistakes and make up for them to the best we can. And the self-guilt? yes, but it’s more of a between you-and-HIM thing :)

We can always remember, praise and ask for HIS forgiveness at anytime and place we are and start over from there, for good, better or best.

Verns, Dimaks! I discussed going to church with my daughter, since she has stopped going a long time ago. Ang sabi nya, Mommy, we I did a kindness (especially to the poor, lonely, sick, etc.), God will appreciate that better than all our churchgoing. She added: “Di ba sabi mo, Mommy, God is everywhere? In church, in the kitchen, in the garden, by the roadside — most of all inside us.” Eh, I just replied lamely: “But we need a base, fellowship with others for mutual support. Kasi left to ourselves, we forget. And there’s danger of being arrogant.” Ay ewan. Sabi ko nga I don’t know anything except that I don’t know. haha.

    annamanila,
I remember my old expression during college days every time some of my friends ask me about praying. They always remark before me, “..we never or seldom see you in the prayer room” something of that sort. And always, I would tell them, “well, I am praying in every millisecond of my existence, without the boundary of time and space”. And after that, they just stare in blank.

But then, I agree, religion and faith in GOD have the community component for individuals to adhere to. But also, sad to say, that there are many people around who comply for the sake of sort of getting an attendance checked or perhaps, for a show-off of being “faithful”.

That’s it. Religion for show. Or religion as a social activity. Like church going as a part of courtship — something to do together that isn’t expensive. Pero okay pa sa akin yan. What I hate most is self-righteous churchgoing. And religion that is exclusivist. Example: “Only members of our church will be saved … the rest be damned.”

Sometimes, I like to shock people by saying Hitler went to heaven — simply because there’s no other place to go. You can imagine what the violent reactions that statement evokes. And yet, deep in my heart I know it to be true.

One day, when I muster enough courage, I will write about my beliefs on life and death and life after life and God. Ayan, you got me going again about this topic. :) Kasalanan mo yan. haha

P.S. Dimaks, one reason I enjoy the blogging community is I am accepted as an equal. Barkada. Treat me as berks, okay. Difficult? Respect for elders deeply ingrained, ha. Well, indulge me — fake it fake it till you make. hahaha That works you know. Thanks in advance ha.

    annamanila,
Religion for show is I think widespread since then :) and that church going as part of courtship? dami akong nakikita sa UP chapel during every mass —on the way pauwi kasi nakikita ko. Teenagers attending mass together and then go for a date later is also a site to see. I wonder what they pray for. Salvation monopoly? I saw and heard it from various religious denominations and its really discouraging. Sometimes, I even think of it as pathetic.

I will be more than happy to read your articles on this matter in the form of roaring tiger or maybe, a hidden dragon? hehe.

How about “dude”? para may hip-hop na dating ..just kidding :) but I can always try.
