Nowadays, childhood obesity is a big issue among parents in various parts of the world. There have been many attempts to alleviate this and it seems that along with the proliferation of technology, health problems and concerns are racing along towards epidemic.
Well, I was just saddened by the fact that if you take a look at the kids today, they are most likely spending larger amount of TV time, which eventually drag them to the pit of the phenomenal “couch potato” transformation. It’s a good thing though that a while ago, I learned some interesting facts on how to cut childhood obesity. This has to be addressed or else, it will be tougher when things manage to escalate for the worse and all you could do is run for these commercial pills with the golden promise of weight loss. So whether you are already a dependent of alli weight loss pills or some other brands out there, this article is I think very helpful in dealing with your child’s obesity cases.
According to the article, it is found that;
..three household routines lower the risk of obesity in children: having family dinners, getting enough sleep and limiting weekday TV time.
It is further learned that among the 4 years olds;
…that followed these practices had a nearly 40 percent lower prevalence of obesity than children who did none of these things.
So I guess is is just high time that we maintain or look back into such basic home routines to ensure our children health. Because for all we know, obesity can bring many complications such as;
- diabetes
- heart disease and even
- cancer
The research cite above was led by Sarah Anderson, assistant professor of epidemiology at Ohio State University. The study fund was by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service.
