Hala! Halalan na! (Kapihan sa Tsukuba)

As kathy already posted about the “Kapihan sa Tsukuba” –basically a community forum organized by the Association of Filipino Scholars in Tsukuba (FAST) led by Benjamin San Jose in cooperation with Philippines Today Online and Uninetwork Inc., I am hereby posting the same, in hope to maximize the means in spreading the word.
Date: April 22 (Sunday), 2007
Time: 1:30 p.m.
Venue: Friends International Mart, Amakubo, Tsukuba
The topics to be tackled during the forum will be the following:
- “Ang Kahulugan ng Halalan para sa mga Migrante” –Tonton Hernandez, Community Leader
- “Absentee Voting Mechanism” –Consuls Gerardo E. Tamayo and Felipe F. Cariño III
- “Elitismo, Showbiz at Partidong Pulitikal sa Pilipinas” –Dr. Nathan Quimpo, University of Tsukuba
- “Election-related Cheating and Electoral Anomalies” –Socorro (Yuko) Takei, PWLJ, UPAA-Japan,
Coalition of Enlightened Filipinos in Japan
Forum moderator: Benigno Tutor, Jr. –Uninetwork Inc. and Philippines Today Online
Event’s main sponsor: ABS-CBN –will provide promotional t-shirts and caps to the participants, plus, KDDI to give away phone cards.
So, for the Filipinos currently residing in Japan, especially those registered as overseas absentee voters, this event is for you. I used to study in Japan as well. Went to ICU around the same time Benja was in Hiroshima. anyway, yun lang
