Gadgets and Telecoms Amidst Hectic Schedule
Posted on 20. May, 2007 by dimaks in Life, Technology
This is not a review but rather rambling about what had happened to my previous cellphone for about a couple of months ago. Well, you know, the thing is, I had this plan with the previous telecom company that says, my monthly phone bills will be auto debited from my postal bank account. So, given that “arrangment”, wouldn’t you feel like banging your head on the wall when someday, and I mean “someday” is after over a year or so (yet, mind you my contract was 2 years) of having things going smoothly, a request for payment of phone bills is stacked in your mail box? Hello? and my bank account still got cash in there!
And would you call it a coincidence? another fellow, R, got his phone bills thrice with the same amount. He told me, “..know what? I think this company is just doing magic”. And it does not end there. B just told the two of us that few days ago, he received a notice (plus another follow up letter stressing the same thing) about the modem he is using for internet connection; that he should return it to the internet provider due to the discontinuance of use. And B said, “Hello!!! I am still using my internet and my contract still has a long way to stay”. Talk about weird things. Now I am thinking what’s next to come while we are busy wrestling with the hectic routines we got in the university.
Anyway, having decided on the matters above, R and I sought the assistance of B in going to the other telecom company to apply for a new phone. And of course, to the previous telecom to cut their “gone weird” service. I can recall how the guys in there looked like while we were entering their building, carrying a paper bag with the name of the other telecom written boldly on it. They even asked us why we opted to shift network. Our answer – “Yasui da kara; Because it’s cheaper!”
So here is my new phone now: A Nokia N73

General description / features:
And here’s how the PC suite looks like that came with the box:
Now I am thinking if I should opt to look like most of the people here, walking around the city with ears all plugged with earphones.

Sweet! It looks really nice and the specs are great. I’m also in the process of getting a new fone as I’ll be switching to a new network. Hopefully I could also get a good deal for a nice fone. Happy new fone!

Ay, Dimaks! Pareho tayo ng phone! Hahaha! Color of mine however is something like violet brownish, old rose na pinagsama sama…. I was overjoyed when hubby came home one day and handed it to me!
Kaya lang, my one frustration with this phone is – one minute lang ang voice recording! And I find this feature very useful pa naman when I am attending my law classes and the professor is talking so fast I couldn’t catch up taking notes…..

tell me, tell me, is it user friendly?
as to those telecom charges, sometimes it could be a glitch in their system, esp if they are huge telecom companies, but gosh, they have to see to it that this does not happen, or else they will lose clients, esp if there are many other options, like in your case.
congratlulations–your new phone seems cool.
