Did you ever wonder how eyelashes grow? Well, this is not your common topic to find in this blog but sometimes I do take my simple curiosity on things seriously, to the point that I would blog about it and even promote it depending on its objective relevance as well as benefits. This time around, my senses got into the human nature’s realm, hence I asked my self – How do eyelashes grow? For sure, eyelashes may look like a useless body part that you grow everyday but since it is appended on one’s precious pair of eyes, they must have something great to serve on.
Hence, I would like to share to you the phases on how eyelashes grow, as listed below with brief description:
Anagen (Growth) Phase
The growth phase is the time when lashes are on the active state of flourishing, which lasts between 30 to 45 days. Notable, “about 40 percent of the upper lashes and 15 percent of the lower lashes are in the anagen phase at any one time“. So that explains it why upper lashes are longer than the lower lashes. The percent share of their growths are pretty much obvious.
The catagen (Transition) Phase
This is the transition phase wherein, the lashes halt to grow. It is the time when the follicles are shrinking. You can notice this when your eyelashes start to fall off time to time, and they don’t grow back right immediately. This one goes for about 2 to 3 weeks.
Telogen (Resting) Phase
The final phase is the Telogen or the resting state for the eyelashes. It lasts for more than 100 days until it falls and be ready for the new hairs to grow.
Each strand of your eyelash grow at a specific phase and cycle. So naturally, along the way, some of them might fall off. It takes like 4 to 8 weeks to completely replace an fallen eyelash.
In this era of high consciousness on beauty consistency, some fashion people even invest on eyelash specific products to satisfy their daily beautification needs. Some may not end up at a sure best eyelash growth product but one thing is certain, there will be one for the sake of satisfaction.
