I Did Not Know That There Is Dyngus Day

Today is the 80th Dyngus Day. Dyngus Day or Easter Monday is celebrated after Easter Sunday and is celebrated in most christian cultures especially the Catholics, as well as Eastern Orthodox.
Dyngus Day is the newest holiday that I learned today, while lurking into the wondrous pits of Google Trends. I did not know about this before – surely a knew addition to my archive.
Events during the Dyngus Day involves egg rolling and submerging other people into the water, which are traditionally blessed with holy water the day before at Easter Sunday Mass.
Dyngus Day or Easter Monday is further known as Bright Monday or Renewal Monday for those in the Eastern Orthodox Church and those Eastern Catholic Churches, following the Byzantine Rites. In other parts of the world like Czech Republic, Dyngus Day is called velikonoÄnà pondÄ›là or pomlázka. While in Slovakia, it is called Å ibaÄka/PolievaÄka or OblievaÄka.
How about you, did you know about Dyngus Day before?
