Did I just save an innocent little girl?
Posted on 06. Jul, 2008 by dimaks in Life
My son Kitô and I were actually busy prepping our bicycles for a quick weekend ride by the neighborhood when suddenly I heard a noise from the car parking area. At first I thought that it was just the usual kids playing around, teasing each other while they roam around and between the cars parked. Upon getting ready to ride my bicycle, I saw this little girl standing on top of the wagon.
I was not worried at first, thinking that her parents were just around the car watching for her. But to whatever reason, this must be a crazy idea to watch over your little daughter. The fact that the rooftop of the car is slippery and at anytime this little girl may fall on the ground and you know what could be next. No matter how tough her parents are, this is just so unbecoming. Anyway, enough of denouncing the situation because guess what, nobody was around the car except her siblings who are around 5-6 years olds, cheering instead. Poor little ones – they did not know what tragic event could happen to their sister.
Apparently, the wagon has a stair at the back, which enabled the little girl to climb up to the top and she just can’t get down by herself. What the bell are her parents doing by this time? Upon realizing what’s happening, I quickly ran towards the car and took the kid down. She was already nervous and shaking by the time I arrived. I then asked her siblings where they live and escorted them home.
That was a relief.
Kitô and I then proceeded to our cycling plan.

I too would be worried. Glad you came into the rescue, very kindhearted of you.
How did she climb to top of the car? I couldn’t even do that myself. Little Wonder.

I’d do the same thing if I were you. However, her parents would also hear some unsolicited advice from me after that episode.

What do stair behind the wagon use for? I think their parent had enough height to put something on top of it without using a stair.

I remember climbing a lot of things as a kid. For some reason, we always wants to climb things when we’re kids. I did fall from a tree once due to all that climbing. Never climbed a van though…. I think.
