“Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You” is one of the songs in Madonna’s newly released “Hard Candy” album. It was released towards the end of April, following the full release of its lead single “4 Minutes”. The official release in Australia was on April 26, while some European countries including Ireland, Germany, Austria and Belgium saw the album out a day earlier. Consequently, on April 28, the album came out in the United Kingdom, Brazil and most of the remaining European countries. On April 29, the album came out in in the United states, Argentina, Mexico and Canada.

“Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You” — this music came out in a unique vibe. At first, it bears an urban vibe while on the grounds of dance-pop. Moreover, producer of Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005) Stuart Price referred the new album as moving in an urban direction. Timbaland being one of the featured producers of this record referred to it as being like Madonna’s “Holiday” but with an R&B rhythm. Justin Timberlake defined the album as being an R&B/pop/dance record. The New York Times then reviewed the album as “a set of catchy, easily digestible, mass-appeal songs.” So perhaps , this makes more fitting into the “Hard Candy” Album label - addicting multi-genre song.

Featured in the album are vocal participation of Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Pharrell and Kanye West. American guitarist and singer-songwriter Wendy Melvoin, best known for her work with Prince, contributed with guitars on the song “She’s Not Me”.
