Director Kevin Smith Kicked Off the Plane for Being Too Fat
Posted on 17. Feb, 2010 by dimaks in Entertainment, News
Hollywood director Kevin Smith got kicked off the Southwestern Airline plane for being “too fat“. Smith complied with the airline’s regulation that larger passengers must buy two seats. And that Southwest’s “Customer of Size” policy requires travelers to be able to fit safely and comfortably in one seat. Despite the Hollywood director’s compliance and belief that he broke no rules, he was ejected from the plane for being too huge for the seat. Director Smith argued that he was even able to put both arm rests down and tuck in his safety seat belt.
The director was offered by the airline a voucher amounting $100 (£60), which he refused to accept. Smith bit back in his twitter (http://twitter.com/THatkevinsmith) by writing:
“I know I’m fat, but was Captain Leysath really justified in throwing me off a flight for which I was already seated?”"I broke no regulation, offered no ‘safety risk’ (what, was I gonna roll on a fellow passenger?)”
Terrible experience! Plus, that was a very lame policy. I mean, the airline could have dedicated and customized a single seat or two for extra large passengers. On the part of director Smith, this might be a warranty for a fat burner in order to reduce weight and size but who cares about his growth? He is just human and getting fat is a natural process, albeit you can control it in some way.
Later with the ejection and misunderstanding, the Southwest offered its “heartfelt apologies” to Smith.

Poor guy. He’s a funny guy. Although, I’d have to say that I’ve only seen one of his movies — Clerks.

Well those airline seats arent any big, even for small people like Filipinos you dont have that much room in them. He’s a director so I dont know why he couldnt afford a business class seat which is much wider.
