Charice Pempengco, voted as Best Singer on Oprah 2009. The 17-year-old Filipino singing sensation stood above her online poll mates over the title ” Best Singer on Oprah” for the year 2009. The poll ran in WInfrey Oprah’s website oprah.com.
Voted Best Oprah Show Musical Performance, Charice Pempengco’s rendition of “Note to God” shone above other tough nominees namely: Journey, Black-Eyed Peas, Michael Buble, Rascal Flatts, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson and James Taylor.
According to Oprah’s website, Charice took the 70% of the total votes. While in her hosted Christmas party for the media at the Shangri-La Plaza mall in Mandaluyong City, Pempengco remarked that what had transpired is really a big deal for her – she told the Philippine Daily Inquirer on Sunday.
