Are You Desperate About Page Rank?
Posted on 04. Nov, 2009 by dimaks in Blogging, Web
Pagerank not important anymore? As you can see, skamid.com has been in an idle state for almost a year, hence the previous Pagerank 3 down to 0. It was kind of hard to come back after undergoing various challenges in life. But as many of us would say, there is always a second chance and I hope this is it. A few days ago, that’s barely a month or so, I tried to revive my passion for blogging and started crafting posts again. It feels good to be back but until last week when I found something interesting about Pagerank, I was so dead desperate about bringing my PR3 on again. I felt like begging from the mighty Google to crawl and evaluate my site again for a possible reinstatement of a small online pride. I even scoured lots of free directory submission sites and entered my domain for the same purpose. Well, I was pacified when I saw this;
“Search Marketing is making a complete migration to behavioral targeting“

And that means, Pagerank would not matter much in the coming days – a thing that came up during the SES Summit held recently in Chicago. In support of this, the Google man, Matt Cutts was interviewed by Mike McDonald of WebPro News during the PubCon in Las Vegas. Watch the video below:
Is Pagerank really not important anymore? Pagerank is lost while Behavioral Targeting is born? Well, that is what I want to find out as I delve deeper into my once-lost online diversion. Let’s see how this blog will go about in the coming days or months. Thanks to “teasastips” of sweetbusinesses.com for buzzing about this Pagerank update!

I would love to believe that Page Rank would not matter much in the future but this was said a year or so ago but when you are monetizing your blog like mine, you can’t help but notice that a high PR is still what the advertisers are looking for.

Sasha,
That was my notion too in the past years but I think I got a hint about behavioral targeting action when I applied for one of the best paying paid blog companies around and got approved in just a day with my PR0 blog.
in any case, we still have to see things in the long run

First year ko sa blogging i got PR4 consistent yun. Ang daming offers thru email ang laki ng kita. Then naging PR0 ako nung mailagay ko ung mga links from advertisers. Sayang pero as usual life must go on. Dami pa din namang other ways to earn.

i think the same case with me noong PR3 pa ako, medyo maganda ang market from advertisers kaya give and take talaga ang nangyayari.

I don’t think PR has influenced me to blog more often even before. Not in a personal blog like mine anyways.

actually nakalimutan ko na siya, not until the eve of new year 2010 when a co-blogger told me na my site got a PR2. OMG! watta nice new year gift from Big G.
Its ok not to have it, but much better if you have one
I even boastfully flaunt it on my page

geri,
haha you are right there bro. after all, advertisers still take PR as a basic requirement.
