Coffee Addiction

Despite the fact that I was advised by a doctor not to engage too much with coffee due to my hyper acidity, I still can’t abide by the rule most of the time due to my sort of addiction. True that my health is at stake but I really can’t resist the invigorating coffee aroma. This happens at night, especially when I need to catch on many deadlines. Aside from the fact that coffee keeps me awake (well just for a short period of time), coffee seems to sustain the sharpness of my mind. So for me, nothing beats a night or sleepy afternoon with a cup of coffee on the table.
So to speak, coffee has been one of the things that accompany me through the years, it’s like my best friend. And I’ve tasted a variety of them in the market, from instant to brewed and from over the counter to the vending machine. When I faced difficult challenges in my life, coffee is the only thing that stayed by my side.
When we were living abroad, coffee was really a great delight in the winter season. And spring feels incomplete without a can of demitasse while watching the cherry blossoms. Who would deny the refreshing ice cold Nescafe during summer? A cafe latte is equally energizing while walking through the falling leaves of autumn. Basically, coffee is there in all corners of my life. I hope I could get one of those stylish Capresso in the future for my coffee sessions.
The photo below was taken at Cafe Veloce, near Tsukuba Center terminal, Tsukuba, Japan, sometime in April 2008. Wifey, son and myself also ordered three (3) cheesecakes and that made our short afternoon stroll a two-thumbs up.
