The President of the United States extended his greetings for the holiday which is also known as the festival of lights. Diwali is a Hindu festival of lights and is celebrated for 4 days during October and November.

Diwali or Dīpāvali is a Sanskrit word which means, a row of lamps or garland of lights is considered as the most colourful Indian festival. It s celebrated on the Kartika Amavasya or New Moon. Diwali is regarded as an auspicious day and it is said that “any Pooja, mantra japa or stotra recital on this day gives 100 times more benifits“.
Diwali or festival of lights is a 5 day festival with each day having its own legend, customes and rituals.
For the trivia, Diwali is the 4th filmed and sixth aired episode of the third season of The Office (U.S. version), which was aired on November 2, 2006, roughly twelve days after the holiday. The show was written by Mindy Kaling and directed by Miguel Arteta.
Anyway, to those who celebrate this special occasion, may it bring you most of the blessings expected. Below is the video of the US President Barack Obama as he extends his greetings for the Diwali or Festival of Lights celebration.
