Today, May 7 is the birthday of the Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and as a customary practice, Google dedicated a Google Doodle today – a Google logo made from ballet dancing figures. The figures were adopted from one of the famous works of Tchaikovsky is the – “Dancers from Swan Lake”.
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky died in 1893. He wrote some of the most revered concert and theatrical scores, including The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker and the 1812 Overture, as well as the opera Eugene Onegin.
Tchaikovsky reaped many successes in life but it ended quite full of personal crises and depression. One of the factors is his suppressed “homosexuality and fear of exposure”. He unfortunately suffered a disastrous marriage, with his 13-year togetherness with the widow Nadezhda von Meck. (wiki)
